MADAME TUSSAUDS WAX MUSEUM

Madame Tussauds wax museums can be found all over the world: Hollywood, Amsterdamn, Bangkok, Berlin, London, New York, Shanghai, Washington D.C. and Los Vegas. The pix taken here are from my Vegas trip. I gotta say, the museum is really cool. Unlike the old days when the displays were roped off, Tussauds now encourages museum visitors to interact with the manikins. Apparently this has resulted in a fair amount of damage to the Bush manikin, the head of which has been replaced several times, as I understand it.

Although my boys, Jordan and Taylor (they're twins, age 19) complained about almost everything we did while in Vegas, this was one place they actually enjoyed. At least they weren't complaining. The wife, however, refused to step inside the museum, apparently having been frightened by a manikin as a child (or perhaps because she saw an opportunity to go shopping without hearing me complain).

We didn't take pictures of every display at the museum. You could spend an hour there without any trouble. And there is enough nostalgia at the museum for me to recommend Tussauds to Swapsale fans without hesitation. -- Bruce/Swapsale
